Presented my Rum Run program to the Cleveland Amateur Boat Building Society on November 8th. What a great group. I thought they were going to grill me on my runner's construction, but they didn't. I met some fascinating people and some had some fantastic stories to share about their families activities during Prohibition. One woman's father signaled rum runners to shore at the age of 12! I met an Englishman who built over 700 boats. Disney commissioned him to build the Chinese junk for the movie, Swiss Family Robinson. What a fascinating life he has led and the incredible places he has been in the world. I enjoyed meeting all. Thank you, president Ric, members of CABBS, and Ed for suggesting my program to the society. You are doing wonderful projects to introduce and inspire young people to the art of boat building.
